About The Pearl
About The Pearl
The Pearl, 2022 is an original violin handmade in the Ruschil workshop, London in the traditional Italian style. Made entirely from the workshop model and using the Cremonese method, The Pearl’s back, ribs & neck are constructed from deeply and uniquely flamed pieces of Bosnian maple, all from the same tree. The front of the violin is made from a fine-grain, low density piece of Italian spruce from Val di Fiemme.
With a fuller body and higher arched back, The Pearl has a deeper tone than other violins in the series, adding substance to its sonority for a classic tone. Accompanied with Thomastik Rondo strings to add a glistening, silvery layer over the top, The Pearl is tonally very versatile whilst being powerful and soloistic.
Finished with our handmade house varnish; a deep, transparent, rich, traditional Italian red and with details such as English boxwood purfling, The Pearl is as the great Cremonese makers intended.
Completed with boxwood pegs, tailpiece & endpin made by Gerald Crowson & boxwood chinrest by Alexander Accessories, The Pearl is finished with the highest quality fittings in the world, all handmade in England.
